The preparations for the 13th International Colloquium on Roman Provincial Art arrive in a final phase.
Μοst of you have been visiting the website of the colloquium and are aware of the latest news.
However we would like to point out some of the main information in order to make sure that all the interested colleagues had access to it.
Time and place: BUCHAREST– ALBA IULIA - CONSTANŢA, May 27th - June 3rd, 2013.
The official Colloquium languages are: English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
Due to thequality of theavailable translators in Romania for our field the organizers decided to offer the extended abstracts in two languages and not to use the simultaneous translation. Further the authors are kindly asked to include in their PowerPoint-presentation a second language as well, different from the one they are giving their paper in.
Further if the participants intend to give hand-outs and need assistance in multiplication or translation are kindly asked to send the .pdf files prior to their arrival in Bucharest and no later than the 15th of May.
The program of the colloquium will be posted at the end of February 2013 on the website, depending on the newest confirmations from the participants and on the registration process.
If you are aware of special situations please do contact the organizers prior to the deadline.
- 15th of February- last date for sending the filled up form with information on the individual participants (details regarding arrival, departure, accommodation, diet etc.).
- 15th of March is the deadline for the hotel bookings at the special rates. Due to the high demand in that season and the central location of the hotels after this date the availability and rate can not be guaranteed.
Agenda of the colloquium:
Arrival of participants in Bucharest: 27.05.2013 (Monday).
Lectures, discussions and posters: 28, 29 and 31.05.2013.
Excursion through Romania visiting Sibiu (30.05.2013), Alba Iulia, Densus and Deva (1.06.2013).
Excursion to Constanța, Adamclisi/ Tropaeum Traiani and Istria: 2-3.06.2013.
Departure can be organized on request from the airports in Bucharest and Sibiu. The airport in Constanța/ Mihail Kogălniceanu will not be open in the period of interest.
Travel and hotel accommodation:
Arrangements have been made for the registered participants on Bed and Breakfast basis for the 3* and 4* Hotels listed on the website of the colloquium, situated near the conference halls and institutions relevant to the colloquium.
All hotels provide WIFI internet access as well as access to the SPA areas within the mentioned room rate (VAT and local tax included). When booking please do refer to the 'International Colloquium on Roman Art'.
For logistic reasons it will be easier to make the booking for the accommodation as package especially in Alba Iulia and Constanta.
Therefore please do kindly send us the information form with your data assoon as possible but no later than the 15th of February.
The organizers will be able to provide financial support for the lunches during the colloquium as well as for the accommodation in Constanta.
We are awaiting confirmation for further possibilities to assist colleagues giving papers (as oral or poster presentation) on which you will be informed in due course.
The poster presentations are going to be on display in the hall of the Library of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest during the days of conference and will be presented by the author(s) during the session on the 29th of May 2013.
Poster Presentation layout requirements:
- size: maximum A0 format = 84.1 x 118.9 cm;
- orientation: vertical;
- font: Times New Roman;
- font size: 48p (title); 36p (author/s, institution and e-mail address); 24p (body text).
- the logo of the colloquium should be included in the upper left corner.
The organizers reserve the right not to display posters that do not correspond to the requirements or have not been properly registered.
